the final episode, "imprint", directed by our hero miike has been pulled from masters of horror, and replaced by something else directed by some other schmoe. why? because they let the directors do whatever they want and miike, naturally, made something you can't show on tv. even cable tv. the dude who organized the series even said "this is the most disturbing film I have ever seen." am I the only one who saw this coming? I remember reading rue morgue way back when and thinking, miike on mainstream american television? it's too good to be true.
now think about this. miike's movies are both considered some of the most disturbing movies ever, and also unfairly typecast as "horror." but ichi the killer isn't a horror movie. neither is audition, really. so when you go to miike and tell him to make a horror movie, you're prolly gonna wind up with some scary shit.
don't worry though, it's coming to dvd. which might have actually been the plan from the beginning.

I don't believe its on cable here in the states, its on showtime or something. It is a originally a canadian series, so was it on cable up there? Canada seems to be very strict on the types of movies even allowed in their country (ie stories from searches at the border) And do you think it will be on the DVD, or do you think he was dropped completely? I really wanna see it...

No I guess it is not Canandian, but showtime is a channel you pay extra for like HBO or cinemax.
